<note>'Sage of Hinduism' is a two-volume publication and it explores in depth all facets of Hinduism, including its impact on the society, from dark antiquity to dawn of contemporary era. The first volume entitled 'Essence of Hinduism' traces evolution of Hinduism from the pre-vedic epoch (more than three millennia ago) to the present times. It includes separate chapters on the main scriptures of Hinduism, namely, the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Gita. It analysis in detail the teachings of medieval saints as well as the message of Hindu reformers of the 19th century. It has been brought out in this volume how the basic core of Hinduism has remained unchanged during this long span of time and how the same basic metaphysical doctrines have been reiterated, whether by ancient Vedic seers or modern sages like Vivekananda. The second volume studies critically the impact of Hinduism on the society since earliest of times. Separate chapters have been devoted to elaboration of its viewpoint vis a vis the position of woman in society as well as the caste system. Among the topics considered in this volume are a detailed portrayal of the Hindu way of life; reason behind the sancitity attached to the cow; propagation of Hinduism during first millennium; whether Hinduism espouses non-violence, and so on.</note>
