xiv; 457-986 hlm; 14,5 x 22 cm This thirty-eighth volume in the series on Ancient Indian Tradition and Mythology constitutes the second part ( Uttarardha ) of the Vayu Purana in English translation comprising the last two of the four sections ( Padas ) into which the Purana is divided, viz. (1) Prakriya y (2) Upodghdta, (3) Anusahga and (4) Upasamhara. This part contains in all fifty chapters, out of which the first three really belong to the second section ie. the Upodghdta Pada of the first part or Purvdrdha, which appear to have want only sneaked into this part. The redactors of the Purana should have made these three chapters the last three of the Purvardha which would in that case have 64 chapters instead of the present 61, not a big difference really, rather than transfer them to the second part, to which they have no special logical affinity.
